- Who it's for: This grant opportunity supports projects already in demonstration (pilot), implementation, or evaluation stages of reimagining land use and zoning—beyond merely adopting a single policy tool. Successful proposals will show how they advance equitable planning processes, bolster economic opportunity for residents, and/or reduce segregation. RWJF seeks efforts that deeply engage residents and build community-driven solutions to health inequities tied to land use regulations

- Environmental Justice Thriving Communities Grantmaking by the Bullard Center for Environmental and Climate Justice at Texas Southern University

See below for our reactions to the past week of foolishness nationwide. 👇🏾
- Lawsuits, Statements, and Orgs Pushing Back on the🐂💩: Lots of tomfoolery coming out of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave recently. It’d be funny if it weren’t having very real and lasting negative impacts on communities across the country. Some folks are stepping up to the plate and not letting this stuff slide without a challenge:
- Small Business Majority: Is saying to cut it out by detailing in a statement how the federal funding pause will negatively impact small businesses. Saying, “We have seen no justification for the Trump administration’s draconian shuttering of the federal purse, and unless some compelling reason is shown we demand that SBA disaster loans be made immediately available to the small businesses that need them most. After all, any delay in assistance could be the difference between closure and survival for thousands of entrepreneurs and their businesses.”
- Environmental Protection Network: The EPN is also critiquing how the administration prioritizes polluters with these EOs and cabinet positions and how DOGE’s buy-out offer for federal employees is nothing more than scare tactics.
- American Federation of Government Employees(AFGE): The AFGE, along with other partners such as SEIU, Public Citizen, and others, are suing the U.S. Treasury Department around DOGE shenanigans.

We exist in the future.
The powers that be are counting on us to be paralyzed, hopeless, fearful. We will not be. As some of my friends remind me, we have to go beyond always being on the defensive. We have to give ourselves both the solitary space and the communal space to imagine what could be. For such inspiration, I find myself returning to Grist’s Imagine 2200 Climate Fiction Series. Highly, highly recommend y’all check it out.
