In One of the Nation’s Most Polluted Communities, Trump Terminates Funding for Air Monitoring by Lee Hedgespeth for Inside Climate News

A predominately Black neighborhood in northern Birmingham, AL in the 90th percentile of particulate matter pollution had its $75k air monitoring grant cancelled by the EPA. Their EPA application explicitly stated that this was going to be used to help working class Black folks and the admin’s new β€œpriorities” don’t allow for industrial accountability πŸ˜’

Support the Greater Birmingham Alliance to Stop Pollution (GASP)

β€œThis EPA Assistance Agreement is terminated in its entirety effective immediately on the grounds that the award no longer effectuates the program goals or agency priorities. The objectives of the award are no longer consistent with EPA funding priorities.”
