A 12-week accelerator program supporting worker-owned, cooperative media companies in the U.S.

Scope: Start.coop is launching its first accelerator dedicated to worker-friendly media companies, offering a 12-week cohort program to help founders build cooperative, worker-owned media businesses. The program provides workshops, coaching, peer support, and access to Start.coop's Lean Co-op Methodology to help founders validate business models, governance structures, and financing strategies.
Requirements: Applicants must be worker-friendly or worker-friendly non-profit media companies based in the United States. Media companies must share governance with their community (workers, users, etc.) or plan to within the next 12 months. Teams of at least two founding members are encouraged, though solo founders are also welcome. Participants must be willing to allow Start.coop to track their success and outcomes over the next five years, and commit to attending 11 live workshops plus an in-person week in Boulder, Colorado.
