Description: Copper is reinventing home appliances for an electrified future with its Charlie stove, combining induction cooking with integrated energy storage. This Software Engineer role involves building and scaling software systems across cloud infrastructure, mobile and web applications, and data pipelines that connect appliances to customers, installers, and operations teams.
Qualifications: 10+ years of professional software development experience, ideally including time at a small or growing startup; proven ability to independently drive large, ambiguous technical problems from definition through execution; strong experience designing and building cloud-based systems (AWS or similar), distributed systems and data pipelines; comfort with TypeScript and/or Python, React-based frontends, and SQL/database-backed systems; experience building production-quality systems emphasizing reliability, automated testing, and long-term ownership; ability to work across teams and disciplines. Bonus: React Native or mobile development, Agile/Scrum experience, IoT-connected systems, embedded software concepts (C/C++), protobufs/RPC frameworks, prior hardware company experience.
